TASTING NOTE: As in any current IPA, the malt profile is completely hidden by the massive amounts of hops that we have added. However, it has enough body to withstand so much hop and make the bitterness rounder. The appearance is opaque, with a whitish and very dense foam.
On the nose, the aromas of pine and green fruits such as apple and pear stand out first, mainly provided by the Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin hops, but little by little as the beer warms up, the more tropical tones of sweet fruit and citrus appear with more force, reminiscent of passion fruit and pineapple.
On the palate, an intense and round bitterness arrives, but with each sip it becomes rounder as the palate gets used to the bitterness present. The sweetness of the wheat and the slight caramel of the caramelised malt give it enough body and at the same time help to attenuate the bitterness. The tastes in the mouth range from pine resin, through passion fruit and pineapple. Finishing with a vegetal and honeyed aftertaste.
This IPA was born from the need and demand for an IPA updated to current tastes made in Menorca. We were probably one of the only, if not the only, brewery that had never marketed an IPA. We had resisted, but we fell into the bitter temptation. Our first IPA is born in collaboration with Birra O’Clock. A highly drinkable Session IPA with a delicious blend of tropical fruit aromas, a hallmark of Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Simcoe hops.
