HISTORY OF
THE BEER

Stouts originated in Ireland to compete with London Porter beers, which used brown malts to make their dark beers. In Ireland, however, they began to use roasted malts, which gave more intense flavors but created an easier-drinking beer than the London Porters, which were very dense due to the large amount of brown and caramelized malts they used to give it the dark color.

This is a black beer with pronounced roasted flavors ranging from toasted caramel and coffee to dark chocolate. The balance with the hop helps to make the beer more refreshing and provides a smooth bitterness.
